Valent Architect, operated by Patrick Valent, respects the privacy of people who visit this website or contact the practice. This notice explains what information the website handles and why.
Information we collect
If you submit the project enquiry form, we receive the information you provide, including your name, email address, phone number, project type, project location, project stage, and message. The form requires an acknowledgement of the displayed privacy and retention terms; the website records that acknowledgement, its text, the submission time, and the IP address for delivery, abuse prevention, and security.
The hosting provider may process ordinary server logs. When Google Analytics is enabled, Google may process cookie identifiers, device and browser details, approximate location, and interactions with the site so we can understand site use and improve it. Please use your browser controls if you do not want cookies stored on your device.
How we use information
We use enquiry information to respond, assess whether the practice can help, maintain the security and reliability of the site, and keep an appropriate record of the conversation. Analytics information is used only to understand aggregate site performance and visitor behavior.
Where information goes
A submitted enquiry is stored as a private WordPress record and in a restricted JSON mirror outside the public web root. While secure outbound email is disabled, no email copy is sent and authorized practice personnel review the private saved records directly. When secure outbound email is enabled, a copy is sent through Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) to the practice’s Microsoft 365 mailbox. The hosting provider and—only when those features are enabled—Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, and Google receive or process information to provide the hosting, delivery, mailbox, and analytics functions described here.

Retention
The private WordPress enquiry record and its restricted JSON mirror are scheduled for automatic deletion from active website systems once they are older than 180 days. A server task runs the deletion schedule at least hourly; planned maintenance or a service outage may delay execution. Rolling recovery backups expire under the site’s documented backup schedule. If secure outbound email is enabled and an email copy is sent, that copy becomes part of the practice’s business correspondence and may be retained while an enquiry or resulting project remains active, or when needed for legal, accounting, or security records.
Your choices
You may ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by the practice. Some information may need to be retained when required by law or for legitimate business and security records. You can also limit cookies through your browser settings.
Security
Valent Architect uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no website, email, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
